Volunteer Festival - Come and celebrate the end of the BioMARathon 2024! On Saturday November 9, the Fishing Interpretation Center (CIP) of Ametlla de Mar will host the Volunteer Party to put the finishing touches on BioMARató 2024. It will be a celebration to discover who has excelled in the exploration and recording of the marine biodiversity of our coast. During the day, we will recognize the work of all the participants and give the prizes to the winners and this year's winners. We will enjoy a day full of surprises and special moments with the participation of the entities that have contributed to making this initiative a reality. The BioMARató, with the aim of cataloging the maximum possible biodiversity on the coast of Tarragona, Barcelona and Girona, is a citizen science event coordinated by the Institut de Ciències del Sea (ICM) which has been possible thanks to the Catalan Federation of Underwater Activities (FECDAS), Annelids - Marine Environmental Services, the Oceanic and Plankton Association, as entities community mobilisers. It has the funding of European projects MINKE, ANERIS, ECS and GUARDEN. PROGRAM: Optional activities prior to the event. 8:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Group outing: snorkeling or diving* from the beach. Meeting point: Plankton Diving. Important Notes: This is not a guided activity; is a collective meeting between MINKA users to dive together and everyone is responsible for themselves in the water, and must have insurance individual in force. *In the case of immersion: to be confirmed depending on the people registered.
