The route starts in Tortosa, the capital of the Baix E•bre region and go to Mas de Barberans, where you will visit the Rural Development Centre and learn about natural fibres and the craftsmen who used them.

In the afternoon you will go to Ulldecona and visit the Ermita de la Pietat (Piety Hermitage), which houses a Cave painting Centre “Abrics de l'Ermita”. It is located at the heart of the “Godall” mountains: The scenery is spectacular and ithe centre is surrounded by mile upon mile of olive groves. This is known locally as the “olive sea”. After this visit you will cross the Montsià mountains, enjoy some magnificent views of the “Alfacs” bay and the Mediterranean and reach Alcanar, which is the southern-most town in Catalonia. From Alcanar you go along the coast to Sant Carles de la Ràpita where your tour of the Montsià region ends. This is a tranquil itinerary with differing scenery, an authentic “sea and mountain” tour.
