The Arrossejat day is now a tradition in l’Ametlla de Mar, and one of the most renowned gastronomic fiestas in the Terres de l’Ebre Its main objective is to promote local cuisine, distinguished by the fact that is it’s prepared with fresh seafood caught by L’Ametlla de Mars fishing fleet. Food connoisseurs say that the fish and seafood from L’Ametlla de mar has unique flavours, due to the proximity of the Ebro Delta, and the wealth of nutrients that are obtained when fresh water from the river meets salt water from the Mediterranean. T he Day of l'Arrossejat also aims to involve local people in promoting tourism while maintaining the traditions and promoting the delicacies. This already popular fiesta is included in the L’Ametlla de Mar’s Fish Auction Gastronomy days which are celebrated in October every year.
