Efímurs Route

Efímurs is an innovative artistic project that has sought to transform L'Ametlla de Mar through the creation of large-format murals, with a wide variety of styles that capture the diversity and richness of the urban world. These murals decorate various spaces in the municipality and promote the quality and professionalism of urban art. Each creation is a sample of the talent of the selected artists and reinforces the link between the town's fishing tradition and its identity. It has established itself as an essential obligatory visit to L'Ametlla de Mar, thus becoming a meeting point for art, culture and tourism as a reference in the circuits of free art museums in Catalonia.

Sense títol (quadrat blanc)

Sense títol (quadrat blanc)

This tower had a mark, the trace of a square poster that showed the previous colour of the Tower. A square in a cylinder. The theme of this mural is very obvious, l’Ametlla de Mar water tower. The theme and colours chosen in this composition are nothing more than an excuse to create a dialogue between the space that surrounds it. The cylindrical format of the support prompted me to work from an unfinished composition, to work by molding myself into the support without a finalized sketch. The cylinder and the square finished this composition. A green sea overlaps a blue sea and the colour palettes blend together.

La pesca

La pesca

This mural represents the figures of two fishermen from L’Ametlla de Mar on the high seas during dawn, emphasizing the hard work, effort and loneliness that this job encompasses.

Emmotional stirring

Emmotional stirring

Inspired by the ocean and its depths. Light and dark, with fish as representations of our emotions passing through our inner world.

Clavellina de mar

Clavellina de mar

The mural represents the flower Dianthus Broteri also known as feather carnation, it is a coastal species that grows on rocks and sandy grounds, it likes to occupy the beach flora, and is native to the peninsula and Catalonia. The art proposes a new perspective on the flower, which is usually 3cm in diameter and is not noticeable in the surroundings, the painting seeks to appreciate the Mediterranean flora, in all its details and also to make the people of the municipality continue to admire the beauty of the nature that surrounds them.

La Remendadora

La Remendadora

Tribute to mender women.

La Tortuga

La Tortuga

The turtle is my favourite sea animal, a symbol of stability and protection, which our seas and oceans need, here it is presented in a lively, cheerful, narrative and colorful composition, which everyone can interpret in their own way. My art does not carry any specific message, it mostly serves me to escape from the worries of adult life to keep my childhood part alive, this is what I try to share visually with each of my walls.

Marina

Marina

This mural is inspired by the memories of when we were children and we used to go with the family to spend the holidays at the beach, in this case the grandfather has caught some fish and left them next to the girl.

Octopus

Blue blood, ability to mimic, intelligence, three hearts and the magnificent movement generated by its legs convey a unique beauty worthy of being represented, in addition to the connotations that relate this animal to my childhood. The figure, embodied in the characteristic tones of my work and similar to a species that lives in the Mediterranean, is placed on a blue background, with a marine tone that can be seen at sunset. This figure is accompanied by some circles in relation to the bull's-eye of the boats, which are composed of various senefas, an abstraction of the waves of the sea, another with a sailor's knot repeated continuously and two senefas with tags and calligraphy with messages about the experience lived in the festival as well as other more personal ones, decontextualizing its origin and creating decorative forms.

Mare de Déu de la Candelera

Mare de Déu de la Candelera

Through this mural, I wanted to represent the feeling of the local patroness of L'Ametlla de Mar, the feeling of a protective entity for fishermen and a guiding light in bad situations. The veneration of the virgin through the procession that is celebrated on the 2nd of February involves every year new generational entities that maintain the feeling for the entity in a secular way, this mural aims to be a link between traditions and new generations . Although iconographically it is a disruptive image with the perception and representation that Catholicism offers of the Virgin, iconologically it continues to respect her attributes such as the candle and the two doves, in this case stopping the trances of the bad sea to be able to protect the fishermen who are located in its belly.

Reina del mar

Reina del mar

This mural is the representation of the deity Iemanjá, the "orisha" who represents the energy of the moon and the sea. This religious figure comes from the culture of the Yoruba people in Africa. It expanded throughout Brazil in the escalist period and merged with Brazilian cults, then rised to Umbanda and others. Lemanjá is known in Brazil as the mother of all and Queen of the Sea, protector of fishermen. It has a deep connection with our “Mare de Déu de la Candelera” for origin reasons, but the evolution in different geographical points maintains coincidences such as the day of celebration of both entities on February 2.

Sota el mar

Sota el mar

In this mural we wanted to represent our own version of "La Sireneta", where we wanted to bring a contemporary and fun approach, with an urban style, characteristic of where we come from, mixing elements of graffiti with the marine fauna of the area, so we wanted to bring a youthful and fresh touch, in balance with the energy that L'Ametlla de Mar exudes, magical and unique.

Sant Pere

Sant Pere

"Sant Pere Pescador" is the patron saint of l'Ametlla de Mar. The Feast of Sant Pere, celebrated on June 29th, is one of the most important festivities in the town. He is considered the patron saint of fishermen, and his image is closely tied to the sea and fishing traditions. The celebration includes a wide variety of social and cultural activities, followed by a procession in which the image of Sant Pere is carried to the harbor, where a maritime procession takes place. This act symbolizes Sant Pere protection over the fishermen and their daily work at sea. These celebrations are marked by a large attendance of locals and visitors who come together to share the town’s maritime and fishing traditions. The town of l'Ametlla de Mar, with its strong fishing heritage, maintains a deep connection with the sea and with the figure of Sant Pere, who continues to be a central figure in its history and cultural identity.
